We are pleased to announce that the Welsh Government have now confirmed that the housing market will fully reopen on Monday 27 July 2020. This means the housing market is fully operational again to include viewings of occupied properties. We are advised that:
o All viewings should be by appointment only
o Agents should avoid back to back visits to a property
o All occupiers should be outside the property when the viewing takes place
o Property viewers to be advised against touching surfaces throughout the property viewing
o The amount of time at a viewing should be kept to a minimum
It is also important that initial viewings are done virtually, and viewings of occupied property only take place with proceedable parties of serious intent which translates to those who are proceedable rather than speculative viewers. We have been experiencing exceptionally high volumes of calls and appointments following the opening of unoccupied properties some 3 weeks ago as there has been a massive surge of enquiries on all property related matters in both the sales and lettings sectors.
We had already been making plans to book in provisional appointments for occupied properties over the coming two weeks and we will continue to conduct our business safely. This will include the following:
o All viewers will be required to complete a self-assessment health form
o They will be asked to bring their own PPE to the viewing and access will be denied without it
o Viewers will be restricted to 2 people in number and they must be from the same household
o We will wipe down any surfaces that they inadvertently touch
o As stated above, they must be in a proceedable position to view
If you'd like to speak to one of the team about how our business will operate safely when the market re-opens, please get in touch.
